Artifact No. 56 - Life & Death Mule
We present to you Artifact #56 - The Life and Death Mule!
We found this mule at an antique market, and the way the stone was cut, it looks like one side of the mule is healthy and the other side of the mule is dying or dead.
It's made of onyx marble, and Google tells us it was made sometime between the 1960s and 1980s and is likely from Mexico. The mule is about 4 inches tall and 5 inches long.
Typically, a mule is described as a sterile hybrid offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. However, in Latin America, there are legends about a mule woman who was cursed for making romantic advances on a priest or skipping church once too often or, worst of all, she was cursed for having no religion at all.
Some believe the mule is a shape-shifter, and other stories suggest it has eyes that glow like burning embers, and its breath shoots flames.
We cannot confirm that this mule is cursed or not, but it looks a bit cursed. Something about the mule feels off, and looking at it just makes me feel a tad uncomfortable.
If you need a cursed item to scare your friends, make your mother-in-law uncomfortable, or even to annoy your least favourite co-worker, this mule might be the right object for you.
