Artifact No.35 - Creepy House Music Box

$35.00

Sometimes we strike gold when we are thrifting, and we find something so creepy-looking that it has to be on our Probably Cursed Shop. This is one of these items.

This Swiss-made music box looks like it's had a rough life. It's very dusty, and it looks like there's moulded wood on the back...maybe it's even charring. We're not really sure. When you lift the lid, not only does it play an eerie tune, but it also looks like someone tried to draw something on the inside of the lid...or maybe something was trying to scratch its way out. We'll be honest, something about it feels dark and negative. The weirdest part is that it sometimes just randomly plays notes on its own.

Sheryl sat down to try figure out what song it's playing and part of it reminds her of the song "There'll Be a Hot Time In the Old Town Tonight", which is weird because it's not a Swiss song (most of the other music boxes online are playing traditional Swiss Songs) and the song "There'll Be a Hot Time In the Old Town Tonight", talks about the Hoodoo religion and sin in the first verse, so we're not sure what that's all about.... This tiny house is full of mysteries.

Google images notes that this type of music box was made in the 1960s and 1970s. This type of music box was a popular souvenir in Swiss Gift Shops. It's about 3.5 inches tall and 4.5inches wide.

Please note that our items are sold in an "as is" state. Vintage items are purchased and sold in the condition we find them.

Want a creepy and possibly haunted item? Although we can't be sure there's anything supernatural involved, it does give off some negative vibes. Maybe your house is just a little too quiet, and you want to hear some strange music from your curio cabinet.

This is the right item for someone, and maybe it's the right item for you.
