Artifact No. 45 - Musical Cherry Liqueur Bottle

CHF 50.05

This item has been sitting in our collection for a while. It is a green musical lantern decanter, and it plays music when you pick it up, which makes it ideal as a trigger object for ghost hunting, but it would also be a great item for someone who collects bar memorabilia.

It's about nine inches tall. The bottle is green and has a label stating that the product was made in Germany by the Wilko Distillery in Oppenau, in the Black Forest. It plays the song "Man musste nochmal 20 sein" or what translates in English as 'I Wish I Were 20 Again". Based on the label on the back, it would have held cherry liqueur, which fits with the cherry attached to the top of the bottle. It's in good condition. The winding mechanism still works, and it still plays the music perfectly, which is amazing for an item from the 1950s.

It was found at a local thrift shop and once we noticed that picking it up triggers the music, we knew that it might make for a good trigger object, though it hasn't triggered anything in our house.

Maybe you need a trigger object for your next ghost hunt. Or maybe you drank a lot of cherry liqueur when you were in your 20s and feel like you want to relive those days. Whatever the reason, this musical bottle might be for you!
