Artifact No. 39 - Creepy Doll in Wheelchair

Long time followers of Sheryl and I will be familiar with this object, Artifact 39, Creepy Haunted Doll in Wheelchair.

It is a small plastic doll in what I think is intended to be a stroller, but looks closer to a wheelchair. It is decked out in excessive ribbons and lace. It originates from 1976, made in Taiwan by Mattel, and is in really good condition for something 50 years old.

The backstory of this artifact dates back to our old podcast, I Went Outside Today, a podcast where we had my sister Sydney try strange new things and talk about them afterwards.

For one episode we each used the Randonautica App to find Christmas gifts for each other. If you don’t know Randonautica, it is an exploration app, where you mentally concentrate on what you would like to see/find/experience/etc, and Randonautica would generate a real world map location to find it.

But unbeknownst to my sister, Sheryl and I together decided to get Sydney an additional extra gift. Sydney is famously afraid of the supernatural and we concentrated on finding her a creepy haunted gift. Randonautica led us to our local Strathcona Antique Mall, and when we saw this doll on the shelf we know that is what we were looking for.

For some reason, Sydney did not keep the gift, and all this time we’ve kept it in our collection.

And if you head to our shop at ProbablyCursed.Etsy.Com, or on our own site, ProbablyCursed.net, you can also see for yourself. And maybe give her a new home.

Every purchase from our shop helps fund this podcast and helps us get closer to our goal of one day having our very own probably cursed museum.
